Hi guys,

From power on to login screen, it takes 28 seconds. My OS drive is a NVME... so I'm really puzzled why does boot up takes longer than my 9 years old windows 10 rig?

Already went to task manager > startup and disabled most items
Fast boot is not enabled, but my previous rig hasn't had fast boot enabled too.

Spec as below:
OS - Win 11
CPU - i7 12700K
Mobo - Auros Pro
GPU - Asus Tuf 3080
OS drive - WD Black SN850 - 500gb
Ram: DDR5 5200hz

I have multiple drives, for convenience I listed OS drive. I just checked boot options in bios and it is pointed to the OS drive.

According to source Windows 11 boot slower than 10 so maybe you can try
installing all the driver including the SATA driver see whether does it helps or not.
Crucial driver are Intel Chipset, Intel Management Engine, Intel Serial I/O and Intel rapid storage technology.

I myself not a fan of Fast boot as to me it causes issues as it does not allow PC to shutdown.

Have you load all drivers including the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver?

I'm not sure if I did.

Can you please guide me to do that?

If this your motherboard:

- Intel Chipset
- Intel Management Engine
- Intel serial I/O
- Intel Rapid Storage Technology
- LAN
- WIfi
- Audio
- Graphic card

*Disconnect from internet when you are updating/installing driver

The order will be like this but Intel chipset have to be first as it is for the motherboard along with the Management engine and Intel serial I/O followed by Intel Rapid Storage Technology.
Than the rest like LAN, Wifi have no particular order so you can install any of them than try again.

Some may say use Windows update but the driver on MS side may not compatible with certain hardware.

I think I've installed the chipset but not the rest, let me try tomorrow and I'll come back.

Thanks Tech

When you say multiple drives, are these HDDs ?
If the rest are all HDDs, try itf there is any difference without any HDD connected.

TS can check how long your bios boot time at task manager "Startup" tab:

28 seconds from power on to login screens seems reasonable to me actually including reading all the microcode and your oc or RAM setup.

I have installed both Win 10 & Win 11 on same PC before.
Window 10 took 10.1s to boot up.
Window 11 took 15.3s to boot up.

Both are clean install.
Win 11 is still in the process of optimization and debugging. Hopefully Microsoft will improve the boot up timing and speed things up a little..

Have you patch up this Win 11 bug that affects NVME?
