slow itunes download

Hi anyone facing the same issue of slow downloads from itunes and App Store? Even changing to OpenDNS ip doesn't help this time. Not sure if the issue is due to local ISP or Apple.

Don't use OpenDNS when downloading from iTunes. It will direct you to overseas servers. If you use your ISPs DNS the download with be from local servers.

i am trying because last time also facing similar issues and using openDNS the download speeds up. Today doesn't seem to work, 5 mins download become 2 hours...

This look like I am not alone who is affected by snail download speed of app in iTunes. Local ISP really need to roll up their sleeves to speed up the download speed rate which is getting from bad to the worst for past few months. Last time, an app was downloading at least 7MB/sec but recently, the maximum download speed has been dropping greatly to only 2MB/sec but today my download speed rate hardly can get above 500KB/sec! Such big disappointment from ISP who always have endless issue.

Was grappling with this problem too... For my case, I was using google dns.

I've switched back to using M1's default DNS... Speed is now back to normal.

i'm on singnet fibre. using dns 165.21.83.88, 165.21.100.88

30mb download from itunes store estimated time is 40 mins??!! wtf?!

Same with mine recently too...very slow downloads of updates and somemore on Singnet fibre BB. But downloads from other sites are fast, perhaps it's iTunes itself.

I agree. Singnet user here. I suspect they kindda block/ limit when downloading from Apple. On my M1 3G network, there is no problems.

Back to normal since this morning.

singnet user here too, last night attempted to use iTunes to download an app of only 41mb estimated time was 16 hrs!!!! gave up, this morning was plain smooth, matter of sec!

yes all back to normal. singtel may be doing some upgrading work that's why affect the download speed.
