I have a lightly used sony a5000 mirrorless camera. Recently, I found that the camera will automatically switch itself off after a while even in the middle of the shot. The camera will just switch off suddenly and the lens will not even retract. anybody know what is wrong? Is the lens or body having problem?

Thanks

Check for firmware upgrade. See if you can upgrade firmware or at least try to reset the entire camera once.

Check your battery contacts and Lens contacts are clean too.

tried all this too but did not work..funny thing is that when I took out the lens and switch on the power, it looks ok..so not sure if it is lens issue..
