sound blaster driver

i would like to know is it safe to use it on my new rig
on my old rig . it freeze my computer , driver downloaded online .
recently i found the disc driver for it . somehow i wonder if it will freeze my new rig as well? looking for some advice before i try :p

I am using creative x-fi extreme gamer, 4 yr liao. Always got detection problem or force restart, but after some "re-inserting" it would suddenly boot up. Soon up lorry liao.. :) sadly got no latest sound card on PCI slots. all PCI-E

Go buy a dry cleaner spray for electronics

SB Live series required the -5volts (white wire) at pin20 location which is missing (omitted) since ATX 2.0.

If you got a PSU with the -5volts, you can use the sound card.
