Hi everyone!

After trying to troubleshoot for days, would like some input if possible.

Currently when playing games when I move around and feel there is a framerate change or increase in GPU load, there will be a buzz like sound (like slight static or a bee passing by or something like "zzzz zzzz").

My findings:

1) When I overclock my GPU, the buzz is more noticeable. But when I don't it is less noticeable.

2) Soundcard is in between my PSU and GPU.

3) Definitely not speaker problem as the same issue occurs with headphone.

4) When not under GPU load, sound seems fine.

5) Using onboard sound = no problem/buzz

My question:

What could be the cause of this buzz? PSU or GPU or soundcard (EMI shielding gone?) or grounding problem?

Hope to get some assistance before I buy a new soundcard/PSU

Try moving your soundcard further away from vga card or add an emi shield on the soundcard facing the vga card.

That moment when you discover sound cards don't necessarily give less noise than onboard

I had tried moving soundcards in both PCI slots.

Does soundcards usually have EMI protection? Wonder if I had damaged some of its components when I changed my PC casing.

Just afraid after spending money on a new sound card it will still get EMI..

lol :s13:

I think is interference liao :o

Dunno EMI shielding will help or not, but normally people are gravitating towards onboard or external USB DACS :o

Best to always plug ur PC directly into the power outlet directly.
I maybe wrong but sometimes if the wire of your audio peripherals is near or in contact
with lets say the Power supply wire),
buzzing may occur.(this one i read online so i not quite sure)
