my creative t12 speakers suddenly no power / dead. power display no light. computer detects the speakers though. maybe the power cable is faulty. can I buy an equivalent cable from sim lim tower ? how much is it ? if it is cheap, maybe buy it and try.

thanks.

Most likely the fuse inside the speaker has blown. You will need to open up to replace it and see.

If the set is still under warranty, i would highly recommend you to bring the invoice and the product down to Creative @ International Business Park for check.

I prefer wired connection so not buying the t12 bluetooth. the t20 is too big for me. don't know what to get now for budget >$100.

Computer still can detect meaning via Bluetooth or via Realtek jack detection? The jack detection just tell you physical connection is there but don't care whether the speaker works.

Mainly I would suspect the power adapter. If adapter got led light, see whether got light or not. Can also check with multimeter.

Realtek jack detection. speaker power display no light. no multimeter.

I was initially thinking if the replacement power cable / adapter is like $10, maybe I will buy and try. but if it is like $30 then of course no.

12V 1.5A shouldn't be hard to find nor expensive, but you should find one to try first. Any old cable modem or external 3.5 inch HDD? Lots of things run on 12V.

so any power adapter 12V 1.5A will do ?

have a linksys wrt54gs router 12V 1A. cannot anyhow try. later would short circuit the flat.

Er... It's just a 12V DC adapter, not like you're doing 240v 20amps or anything. :s22: Try it out 1st.

Any 12V 1.5A

Just try the 12V 1A. The only limitation is you can't use your speaker at max volume. Meanwhile order from eBay and wait for it to come.
