Bro they are of different categories!

SI (station Inspector) is the 3rd most senior in *Junior* Police Officer ranks where Inspector is the most junior in the *Senior* Police Officer ranks

different in term of rank structure.

another main difference is to be SI, average age of the officer should be about 33 of age.

whereas for INspector, it will be early 20s.. when they graduated with a degree.

however, in the recent years MHA has announce the promotion to SO rank from JO.

nevertheless, my explanation above has already answered your query.

A simplistic way of comparing, i will say its like 2WO comparing to LTA.

Just to add on that now SI is the most senior in *Junior* Police Officer ranks since they no longer offered promotion for SSI(1) & SSI(2).

So after SI, you will be promoted to Insp these days.
