I don’t know why many think Singaporeans are generally unhappy. Have you been to Japan or Korea and see how they work? Taking a 2hr train ride home everyday? Chinese generally work a lot harder too. Hk live in such tiny places the quality of life can’t be fantastic. And yes life is quite stressful in HK as well. The third world countries around the region… life can be really tough for the average joe. Say you’re a cabby here, would you trade your place here to become a cabby in say Malaysia or Thailand? Really short of the few rich European and Scandinavian countries, the US and NZ/oz, you are likely to do a lot worse than being a Singaporean.
