Hi,

I have just bought a 512 SSD to replace my 128 SSD, i have used Acronis to do a clone of my old SSD to my New SSD, however i realise that my PC strangely boots from my existing HDD and den runs off the windows operating system from my old ssd.

So now the problem is my pc recognizes the HDD as the primary boot but at the same time requires my SSD to successfully boot into windows.

By replacing my SSD, windows does not recognise it and is unable to boot successfully.

Does anybody have any experience whereby strangely the main boot up files are in the HDD while the rest of the operating system is in the SSD.

I am sure currently my windows run off my SSD due to the speed and under my computer its shows C: in the SSD.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

What happened when you attempt to boot from the 128GB SSD or the 512GB SSD without the HDD?

Bootmgr Is Missing message displayed or just a blinking cursor?

Probably can unplug your HDD, run the Windows 7 repair and let it fix the boot manager on your remaining 512GB SSD?

Thanks for the replies. I have mange to solve it. It's the case whereby during windows 8 installation I connected both my primary ssd and secondary drive. And strangely windows installs the boot drive on my secondary hdd. I used easybcd program and changed the secondary hdd boot drive to my ssd. Very easy program to use.
