Stocks app background activity battery drain

Since last night, the stocks app has been running in the background. It is now 28% of my usage. This is despite the fact that I disabled background activity for the stock apps.

I found similar problems online...

Any idea how to rectify? I did a hard reset and it didn't work. Based on the thread attached, resetting the phone didn't help

Already did.

It fixed itself. It didn't quite drain the battery a lot but as it was on, the phone was recording usage even though it was in standby.

Does push notifications trigger usage time with do not disturb enabled?
