hi all, need some recommendations on study/computer desktop.

I am currently using Linnmon from Ikea. I have mounted a 34-inch monitor right in the centre of the table, and the monitor arm is not fully extended. I realised that one side of the monitor arm's base sinks into the table (the base above the table).

I used a 24-inch monitor previously on the same table with a different monitor arm, but the arm was slightly extended. The base of the arm sank in as well.

Other than reinforcing the bottom of the table on the clamp, I would like to get recommendations of the types of tabletop that is either pure wood or would not suffer from sinking in.

TIA

You can get a pure wood coputer table at most furniture shop. Just tell the salesman you want a wood base computer table. There are about the same, not much design to choose, oh and remember to measure the size of table you need before buying.

Linnmon table top itself is not firm and coupled with the design of only support from the 4-legs or 2 alex drawers from the sides causes the center of the table to bend over time. The bend will be more pronounce for longer table.

You can try the logan study table from myseat.sg which is from pure wood or UMD life which is fiberboard with laminate finish (water proof). I own both and i can say that both are similar with great quality support frames to ensure that the table will not bend but just different table top.

Choose the size to fit your need, price slightly higher for pure wood and may require paint finish should you require waterproofing to prevent pernanent stain if you eat or drink on your desk.

Do they just sell the desktop only? I intend to use back the legs. One side of my table is supported by legs and the other side is by a ikea shelf, so I don’t need the frame/legs

The filling inside Ikea-Linnmon is honeycomb structure paper.
You may want to consider Ikea-Gerton which is solid birch wood.
