Hi everyone, I'm hoping to do up a new CPU but it's been several years so I'm very out of touch. Would appreciate your expert advice on it.
  • Budget $1200
  • Mainly for work
  • Able to support high volume of multitasking (Full time trader so I need to support 2 monitors and open multiple charting programs & tabs for java scripts in firefox , charting is real time so they seem to take up A LOT of memory)
  • Prefer not to have full tower casing
  • PC is on at least 12hrs a day, so I'm concerned about electricity bills & overheating (liquid cooling required?)
  • Used for graphics editing, torrents, minimal gaming

Cheers!

casing and DVD±RW up to u.

Asus GTX650 DirectCu 1GB DDR5
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H (Z77)/Intel i5-3570

if u go for AMD A10-5800 with FM2 mobo u wont need the gpu.

Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800
OCZ 128GB Vector Indilinx E2

for ssd i highly reccomend plextor m5s or samsung 840 will be good enough.

WD 1TB 64MB Caviar Black

u can consider going for caviar blue to save energy cos most of the time u only use it to store data and not running any programs on it.

Thermaltake T.Power ST 550W 80+ Gold

for psu, if u gonna stick with ur original build a 450w is more than enough. i highly recommend seasonic/antec/corsair brand for their reputation and quality.. not that thermaltake is bad but just my preference.

Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CL9

PC3 12800/1600 KingstonCL11 (1X8GB) S$77 should be more than enough.

replied in red. :)
