Hi guys. I will like to seek your expertise advice. I am thinking to go Hokkaido during summer, but am too puzzled how to, so will most likely want to join a travel agency.
Can you recommend a good and reliable travel agency which you have joined before?

Drop by NATAS this weekend ba. Since you're planning a packaged tour, almost all retail travel agencies in SG are the same....well maybe not A*A...:s13:. Their Hokkaido iterneries are very similar to each other so there's not much of a difference

Of cos you can always check out Prime Travel and JTB for better iteneries. They're Japs travel agencies so its only natural they know Japan the best. Prime Travel is particular good with Hokkaido.

FYI F&E is the much preferred method to tour Hokkaido anytime of the year.

I was at Natas today and visited a few agencies' booths regarding late July Hokkaido trips to see lavender.

All the itineraries are about the same, price also around the same 2.5-3k including taxes and local tips. Hong Thai and Apple Vacations are more transparent about their tour packages. They have most meals covered.

The only outstanding one was Prime Travel. I was very impressed. The price also very wow at $6k+. :s22: But the itinerary is really very good. It's relaxing (only around 3 items a day), zero shopping, and includes stuff like visiting local farms (not those touristy ones) which you can't get with most out-of-the-mill tour agencies. The hotels and food are top-notch too.

Its not hard to do Hokkaido F&E.
Can get the brochures from JNTO and JR Hokkaido Pass from the travel agencies.
The only thing that you need to watch out for is the train timings; might not be so frequent in some parts of Hokkaido

Thanks for the recommendations. But I am really quite lazy, and I scare 1 person go F&E will be a challenge... :p Will probably reserve that for Tokyo when X Japan decides to do a world tour again. :D

Anyway, do you all think its too late if I only reserve from April onwards? Because new fiscal year then can claim coy. :s13:

Yes it will be too late. Even if any tour agencies is able to sell you a package, it will be slots from pple who decided to cancel their bookings at the last min due to whatever reasons. And rest assured that the tour agency will jack up the $$ to kingdom come as a result:s13: And rest assured that the group will be very large too.

For F&E... you can almost forget about it liao. Even if you can get the air tickets to any airport in Hokkaido, the hotels would have been booked by now. April is a low season, but most hotels doesn't allow last min bookings and still allow their customers to enjoy super off season rates.

Of cos... Prime Travel is a Jap company and its run mostly by local Japs too. They're particularly good with Hokkaido trips. I think they've got connection with Hokkaido Tourism Org and they're tasked to show oversea visitors the best of Hokkaido.

excellent customer service from them. They're still very helpful even if you don't buy from them in the end.

Were you served by one really cute Japs girl by the name of Tomoka-san? She's 30+ liao but still looked really pretty haha.. You know me la, with such pretty girl and excellent erm.. services from her, I won't be able to think rationally and its a good thing I managed to e-brake myself before my bank account got depleted becos of her:s13::s13: I met her 3 times before stopping myself :(:s22:

It was because her driving packages to Hokkaido... her lobang can't give me a decent sized car for that astronomical $$... Prime uses Toyota Rent-a-Lease, a premium car rental agency in Hokkaido which hardly do any promo rates. Already I had to top up extra $$ just to upgrade to a lousy Corolla Axio. :( The packaged price comes with a tiny Toyota Yaris only.
