Surface, iPad, Macbook or Ultrabook??

Hi, need some opinions here.

I am a heavy word/excel/ppt user for work. But I like the photo editing, quick boot up of iPad. I also like the lighter weight of tablet compared to notebooks (incl ultrabooks) if only the software functionality is not compromised. I also need to use a USB stick at times for copying files (though sometimes that can be overcome with emailing).

Budget under S$1000.

What should I get? Surface? iPad (which model)? Macbook Air? Ultrabook (which one)?

For photo editing will go with notebook or macbook. Personal preference will be macbook.
