Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask this question.

If I realised I made a mistake after I have completed my online application and made payment, is there anyway to rectify this?

Thank you.

Will there be a slim chance to admit into the SUSS part-time degree course if I’m currently unemployed, but with more than 2 years of past working experience inclusive of completion of national service?

Yep, dont have to be employed currently to apply for course

Hi all, just some background story.. I am working fulltime and applied for BA Sociology with Minor (January 2020 start) and I received the email asking me to accept their offer today. I did some reading and I wish to take up the tuition-fee loan. I understand that I have to download the forms and proceed to DBS however the website mentioned will take 2 weeks to process, and the email told me to make payment by 25th december. The application for Tuition Fee Loan ends on 30th november so will I make it in time?

Also, I have trouble understanding what courses to pick. To graduate, I need to complete:
10 cu of Social Science core courses;
10 cu of General Elective courses;
60 cu of Sociology courses;
40 cu of Minor courses ; and
10 cu of SUSS core courses.

I know what are SUSS core courses/General Elective courses/Minor courses. However, I do not know how to differentiate Social Science Core courses and Sociology courses. I went to look at the courses on the website and it listed 45cu of 'Compulsory' courses and 65cu of 'Elective' courses which exceeds what is required. Am I confusing myself?

I'm asking here hoping to get some enlightenment as I tried calling but no one picked. I will try again tomorrow. Thanks all.

heyy, so about the loan, I didn't take the student loan so there might be others out there who can share their experience but based on what you said, it seems pretty OK for time.

You can apply for the student loan first and send an email to the school at student_recruitment@suss.edu.sg to inform them as well as check in with them if the timeline is alright. sort of to get a black-and-white too.

On your second question, that one I am not too sure. better call the school to check.

The social science core modules are the modules that start with HBC in the curriculum plan. Sociology modules start with SOC.

The 45cu of compulsory consist of the social science core modules as well. The curriculum plan on the school website is for pure sociology (45+65cu = 110cu of which 10cu are social science core modules). Since you are taking sociology with a minor, you will be taking less electives (not 65cu).

ahh thank you! so that means in my case first i am required to take up all the compulsory courses which already has 10CU of HBC and 35CU Sociology courses. Then I have to further pick other courses amounting to 25CU from ‘Elective’ to fulfill the 60CU requirement correct? Do I have to follow the ‘Complete at least 30cu of level 3 courses’ requirement?

Sorry if it sounds confusing but I have no friends doing part time..

Your understanding is the same as mine :)

I believe you'll have to follow the ‘Complete at least 30cu of level 3 courses’ requirement. These 30cu will consist of the level 3s in the compulsory modules as well. I'm not in the sociology program, but this is the case for my program.
