Hi all, I have successfully allowed anonymous ftp on my synology NAS. However, I do not wish to let anyone see the contents of the folder, but still able to download if they know the exact filename. How do I go about doing that? Thanks in advance.

how about giving a guest account instead ?

create a few guests account and move/copy the file to the user so he can't see the rest of the files.

Hi, I have set it up anonymous access already, my problem is I want to restrict anonymous users to see what's in the folder.

I've thought of it, but I think it would be inconvenient for my clients to log in to download. Thinking of just of a simple click and download, but unable to browse what's in the directory at all. I have tried disabling directory browsing, but that only restricts them from going to other folders, they can still view what's in the the folder itself.

Setup a shared folder only accessible by your Anonymous FTP/WEBDAV user

Then for the same shared folder, disable directory browsing

This is not security. If you are really interested in secure sharing of only specific contents with your customer, try sharing them via Dropbox shared link or AWS presigned url.

AWS presigned url required you to upload your data into S3, but this can be easily done using Synology AWS backup idea. Basically setup your Synology to backup the sharing directory into S3. After that, you can use Firefox S3 Organiser and create presigned url of the specific file and share with your customer. You can also upload file directly into S3 using the Firefox S3 Organiser without the intervention of your Synology. What AWS presigned url offers ontop of Dropbox share link is time limited sharing. The presigned url link has expiry datetime builtin where it will stop functioning based on your own configuration.
