Hi Everyone,

I have been doing extensive research for the past few days and I need your advice on choosing a tablet.

I am primarily looking to get a tablet that have 3G or LTE, prefer the latter as I will be doing extensive web surfing due to work.

I prefer Windows 8 OS, but, if left with no choice Andriod is also possible.

I also prefer if there is a stylus that comes with it, because I will be attending a lot of meetings, so a stylus will help me greatly.

I am currently looking at a few model:
Samsung Ativ Smart (3G)
Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 (3G)
Surface Pro (Not available yet in SG)
Samsung Note 10.1 (With LTE)

As you can see from the list, I am primarily interested in mobile web access and stylus.

Is there any other brand/model that I miss out?

Price is of no concern. Weight, secondary consideration point as I'm driving.
Keyboard or docking station, not a consideration factor at all as I will be mobile most of the time.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

There isnt much tablets out there that has LTE. The only tablets which has LTE right now would be the ipad mini, ipad 4, note 10.1 lte, asus padphone 2 plus dock.

Hi Roy,

Yes, you are right, sadly speaking the choice is not a lot locally compared to what they have in the states.

And there isn't any news about them launching the LTE version in SG soon.

So I guess, 3G or LTE, I have to go for which is better in terms of performance.

Is the ability to display Flash on websites important to you?

I have Ativ Smart 3G and I quite like it. It run quite speedily after the firmware update and so far it run most of my work applications quite well. And I much prefer browsing on the Ativ Smart as compared to my ipad Mini.

The Thinkpad 2 is a good alternative as well but I prefer the larger screen of Ativ. I find the Ativ quite comfortable to hold with one hand, but you may want to try it first.

If you feel that stylus input is a priority, then the Samsung Galaxy Note is the clear choice.

I do not see anyone else in the market with a comparable product range. Samsung has carved a niche for itself in the market for stylus-based Android devices.
