Any Ting Tai Fung alternatives in Taipei

As Ting Tai Fung should be crowded due to its fame, any other restaurants of similar standard or even cheaper ones in Taipei for recommendation? Where do the locals usually go for such food?

even taxi uncle reco them! very local and inexpensive..

food that ive tried and reco:
1) Ariel Café @ Qsquare mall - must try waffles
2) 咖啡弄- nice coffee & food, waffles not bad
3) Myowa café @ yong kang street - matcha fans but have min order
4) 马 hotpot @ XMD - mala fans
5) DTF - must have already very common, much nicer den SG even SG is as nice

overall Taiwan gives me happy memories on food!

金峰魯肉飯 their rice and egg are best. even my taipei friend recommend it. the rest so-so. i will try to go eat every time in taipei.

for xlb, 杭州小籠湯包 is a must when i'm in taipei. the crab roe xlb is heavenly. it is just besides cks memorial hall. long queue at peak time.

Another thing to check is fb.
