Will have 3 weeks break in December. Thinking of going to Taiwan. Wondering how the weather is in December. Will it be very cold? Is Christmas exciting there? Or should I opt for the New Year's eve instead? For sure can see the fireworks at Taipei 101.

not the coldest period there, but abit too late to book hotels during new year's eve.

Can try to ask ard for hotels first before booking your flight.

Taipei has many hotels, so dun worry. But you may not get the best value for money hotels.

Temp should be around 13 to 20C in Dec.

Agoda still ok leh I check. Under $100 but not sure abt location. Not familiar with Taipei yet. Airbnb also not bad.

After countdown still can take train ma. But then saw the other thread, standing 7 hours in the cold for a 3-min firework... I may need to think again.

Hi guys, need comments on my itinerary before I go into detail.

Day 1
Reach Taoyuan at 625pm
Take HSR to Taichung
Spend night @ Taichung

Day 2
Sun Moon Lake
Spend night @ Taichung

Day 3
HSR Taichung - Chiayi
Chiayi - Alishan
Spend night @ Chiayi

Day 4
HSR Chiayi - Taipei
Fireworks!!

Day 5
Taipei

Day 6
Taipei

Will be getting the Flexible 3-day pass, for Day 1, 3, and 4
THSR Pass-About Pass-Flexible 3-day pass

For the accomodation in Taipei, I actually prefer saying at XMD area.
But only for 31st, prefer to be near 101. It will be difficult to book only for 1 day.
Is 101 area happening? I think not comparable to XMD?

yup especially xmd hotel.
My friend wanna book 8nights at xmd.
ECFA 3stars hotel family room for 4 is 2050 ....
meaning one night is 250+ ...
If offpeak period is 90-100 one night ....

Airline inn is 250sgd per night for 2 pax.
If offpeak is 80+ per night for 2 pax.

Rather fly during offpeak period.
