Friend of deceased Taiwanese influencer chides Namewee for lamenting about lost jobs after murder probe
"At least you're still alive," she said.
A friend of the deceased Taiwanese influencer, Iris Hsieh, has derided Malaysian rapper Namewee, 42, for
lamenting about lost job opportunities and appealing for new ones amidst investigations into Hsieh's suspected murder.
'At least you're still alive'
In a Nov. 19 Facebook post, Hsieh's friend and fellow Taiwanese model, Fang Qiyuan, who goes by Sprite Fang, expressed her contempt for Namewee's comments.
"At least you're still alive. You can make music, earn money," Fang remarked.
In a Nov. 17 post, Namewee lamented that he had lost several work opportunities after being embroiled in the suspected murder case.
"Hsieh, on the other hand, is now dead," she continued.
Fang appeared to blame Namewee for what happened to Hsieh, saying that Hsieh would still be alive in Taiwan had she not gone abroad upon Namewee's invitation.
She called on Namewee to take responsibility and to mourn Hsieh's passing with sincerity.
"Death isn't scary, but being forgotten is," Fang wrote.
Called out Namewee for not going to pay respects
In an Instagram story, Fang continued her criticism of Namewee's reaction after posting bail.
She said that Namewee could still survive on royalties from his music and YouTube videos.
"As someone who was there when she died, shouldn't you be more respectful? Hsieh was cremated in Malaysia. Why didn't you go pay your respects?" Fang questioned.

In a separate Facebook post on
Nov. 21, Fang wrote: "Hsieh, I'll live your dream for you. Go peacefully. I'll make sure you get justice!"
Namewee is out on
bail until Nov. 26 as Malaysian police await the autopsy report.
