Because of their poor design of drainage in the past which causes all this. There was once I forget about this and put toliet papers inside. In the end, it floods and i was so peiseh =/

Nv happened to me b4.. One thing I dun like is the toilet layout.. Happened to me when I was in TP to celebrated new year count down, n this mobile toilet(like big container) where male n female toilet facing each other. N I happened to use the urinal loo facing the female toilet. The feeling was super weird n u cannot concentrate do ur business when a group of ladies r waiting for their turn n seeing u do business. They r really open minded...
I was at 新社花海. Cos many people, the women also use the male toilet. The men went in to use urinal, women queued for male toilet cubicle. The layout is still ok as the urinal is behind a wall while the cubicles are nearer the entrance.

i choked at least two myself, one squatting one at the tms underground mall, damn gross all the water rose and overflowed out and dripped onto the floor all around till outside the cubicle. then i was still shocked and gong gong continue standing there. lucky sneakers slightly wet only and no one around.

Actually, if you notice, their toilet paper is those hard paper towel that we normally use to wipe dry our hand here. So it is hard to "dissolve" in the water hence lead the choke.

What we did is bring our own toilet paper or tissue paper. No issue in whichever we stay. Anyway we do have habit to use bidet if its available

Now, is this going to lead to a new criteria when selecting a place to stay? In many countries, especially in old or rural places, the plumbing is too weak to accept toilet paper. It can be downtown Tokyo, Korea or Spain. Look for the posted signs and take heed. Don't test the water, sewage is what you will get.

hahaha yup, will get unpleasant experience. :( the other ones i used at the jieyuan all fine, even the older looking toilets, think some already upgraded especially at tms.

actually, even for some places that can accept toilet paper, the flushing or sewage system is still quite weak (ibis siam). you find out too late in the event you use too much toilet paper and try to flush all that down. same result of... choking or flooding! :s8:

i actually feel the toilets in taiwan are better than in those nice hk malls like langham place. damn cramp and not clean for such a big mall.

ruifang tra - not so clean and not well lit. jiufen - can chill at one of the teahouses and use their toilets ba, i didn't use the public one so far.

danshui jieyun still acceptable. i didn't use the public one here also. i think got some makeshift one near starbucks. fisherman's wharf one is quite ok.
