Does anyone notice there are some roles that have been posted by companies (both govt and private sector) that are the same roles over and over again? The same roles have been posted since last year (June 2024 onwards) and the more ridiculous thing is for some govt agencies these are temporary roles.. like are these even real in the first place I wonder? Or are they there to fake the number of job postings?

Heard about the fake job ads, posted to make the company looks like it's growing but in reality is cutting headcounts.

Not sure if it's because the linkedin recruiter seats are paid one year in advance by companies, since already paid for might as well make full use.

There are also some hiring managers who are very picky with candidates, hence you see the same job posting up there for months.

Alot ppl defend the retail and factories to use ghost staff to fulfill local quota so they can hire more cheap FT to cut cost.

It’s quite common to see ghost role, especially local banks, where they repeatedly reposting the same job openings. In many cases, it seems these postings are just fulfilling regulatory requirements, rather than representing genuine hiring opportunities.

MOM really needs to strengthen its oversight on this matter. If job postings are only there to meet formalities while a candidate has already been identified internally, then perhaps the requirement should be reconsidered. This practice wastes applicants’ time and effort.

A more effective rule might be to mandate that once a role is advertised externally, the company should no longer be allowed to hire internally for that position. This would help ensure fairness and transparency in the hiring process.

Even some gahment portal also got this kind of ranjiao job postings... the same job that seems to be hiring from day 1 to day 365

They prob receive thousands of applicants, ghost every single one and then continue to be posting on the job portal to create an impression they are hiring knn

I even try to test them by creating some fake resumes where the applicant matches like 99% of the requirement... same thing no response at all

Quite obvious they are just posting for fun nia
