VQ has stopped offering 10Gbps service for quite some time. SI has also stopped offering the consumer 10Gbps service to new customers for quite some time.

Now the choice is between Singtel 10Gbps and Starhub UltraSpeed (trial). Both are not good if you want to use your own router, as both are using ONR and cannot be bridged.

It's a special arrangement between VQ and SI - services on SI will be decommissioned on 18 September, and they are offering customers special pricing to continue 10Gbps with Viewqwest at $268 by 18 July.

1G home user here. Offered 1G ViewQuest with Static IPv4 at $47.97. Ain't sure if it's as good as what SI was offering or if there's changes to setup (e.g. New ONT/ONR and the use the other physical fiber)

Hmmm I guess I might have misinterpreted the letter... It appears that I can continue with no change to my monthly recurring charges and T&Cs?

From what I seen on VQ thread, don't think they offer service quality like SI :s22:

Highly doubt VQ will offer a direct SFP+ connection.

The only ISP capable of replacing this line unfortunately is SPTel but they're offering for business only.

I'm going to miss the latency and direct connectivity/routing being offered now.
I bailed from VQ to be having ushered back in

I'm still on a fence on which provider at the moment, but i won't be going back to VQ.

Update:

Spoke to a staff at SI as they called me.

If you're on a dynamic plan 1Gbps - you'll be ported to VQ "dynamic" plan - which would mean you'll end up with being on CGNAT.

You'll need to get in touch with VQ to arrange, since SI will not overstep, for the static IP addon.

I'm still undecided for which ISP to go for.

So no change of ONT/ONR equipments? just rerouting of BB service network to VQ instead?
When I called SI they said no changes of equipment on user end, but are unable to clarify what happens on future equipment failure (unsure if VQ can provision new media converter/fiber or will move the line to ONT/ONR), and also unable to clarify if non-static IP users will continue to get a public IP or get CGNATed.

I opted to be contacted by VQ in SI's survey doc, hopefully I can keep the current SFP style equipment and get static IP on their plan, but I have yet to be contacted by VQ nor SI so far

Seems like SI side is just handing over the customer base. Not sure bout the IP pool and equipment. This was not mentioned.

I was told differently since VQ is taking over since we'll be transitioned over to their equivalent plans.

Ie. Static ip plans > static ip plans on VQ. / dynamic plans > dynamic plans on VQ. (cgnatted)

Just got a FAQ from SI:

1. When will my subscription be migrated to ViewQwest?
Migration will only happen for those customers who will retain & novate their existing
Superinternet plan.
Customers who wants to avail of any ViewQwest promo can do so anytime. You can
email your interest at retail.sg@viewqwest.com and a ViewQwest sales specialist will be
in touch with you.

2. Will there be any downtime during the migration?
Yes, downtime will only be experienced by customers who will transfer their existing
Superinternet plan to ViewQwest. We will advise you 7 days before the activity via email.
Migration activity usually happens off-peak weekday, 1AM to 5AM.
For customers who will be signing up for a ViewQwest promo, there will be no downtime.

3. Is there any needed action on my part for the migration?
The immediate step is to review the novation terms sent by SuperInternet and to accept
the terms if agreeable. For more information, please refer to the novation letter that has
been sent to you.

4. Will there be costs that I need to cover during the migration?
None.

5. Will there be change in hardware, like modem and router, during the migration? Do I need
to return these to Superinternet?
For customers who will retain their SuperInternet plans, there will be no change in
hardware.
For customers who will avail of a ViewQwest promo, new hardware --- modem and
router --- will be provided. And this can be done anytime with no downtime. Old
hardware should be returned to SuperInternet.

6. Will the value added services I am subscribed to such as Static IP and Multiple Static IP be
made available if I move to ViewQwest?
Yes

7. How many static IPs can I subscribe to?
You may subscribe to our multiple static IP service up to 8 (/29) if you will require more
than 1.

8. I am currently subscribed to IPV6 service, will this be made available?
Yes, this will be offered exclusively to SuperInternet customers who will novate to
ViewQwest.

9. If I am currently subscribed to a static IP service, will I be able to retain my IP address?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to retain your existing static IP/IPs.

10. What are the ViewQwest plans available for me?
The equivalent plans between SuperInternet and ViewQwest have been mapped out, and
the information has been shared in the novation letter sent by SuperInternet.
If you have questions regarding the available ViewQwest Home Broadband Promos,
please reach out to retail.sg@viewqwest.com

11. If I sign up for a new ViewQwest plan, will there be any downtime?
It will depend on the following scenarios.
A. None, if there is an Available FTP port
There will be no downtime as the new line can be provisioned independent of the
active SuperInternet line.
B. Yes, if there is No Port Available in FTP
You would need to terminate your SuperInternet subscription to release the port.
ViewQwest will only be able to provision and activate your new promo once port is
released.

12. I already have my own router. Will I be able to use this?
Yes.

13. How is the 10Gbps speed provided?
This is the same as your existing set up.

14. I can’t wait for August 2023 to switch to ViewQwest. Can I switch now to avail of their
promo?
Yes, you can. You can email your interest at retail.sg@viewqwest.com and a ViewQwest
sales specialist will be in touch with you.

15. What type of hardware (modem and router) will I get if I subscribe to ViewQwest?
All residential modems provided for 1Gbps and 2Gbps plans have 4-ports with the
following configurations:
1Gbps – Bridged mode, only 1 port activated
2Gbps – Brouted mode, all ports activated (URL for 2Gbps set up)
10Gbps - 10Gbps = transceiver
Routers provided will depend on the plan availed varying from basic routers to WiFi mesh
systems.

16. I don’t want to sign up for a 24 months plan, what's an alternative option?
You may just novate your existing Superinternet plan to ViewQwest. No new hardware
will be provided --- modem nor router. However, you will need to wait until the network
migration is completed.

17. When is the deadline to decide if I want to migrate to ViewQwest or not?
18 July 2023

18. When will my Superinternet connection cease to function?
18 September 2023

19. What if I don’t want to sign up with ViewQwest, can I terminate my subscription asap?
Yes. Superinternet termination policies and process apply.

20. I’m currently using SFP, will I be able to still use this after the migration?
Yes. For all customers who will retain their existing SuperInternet plan, there will be no
change in configuration and hardware. For those customers who will avail of a new
ViewQwest Promo, only 10Gbps plan will have the option to use SFP.
