The other day I at my neighborhood market eating bcm. My table next door is a bunch of JC or poly punks speaking in American accents talking about how bcm compared to aglio olio.

I have the same issue. My 15months plus. Only hear mandarin once a week. Gg. I find it super uncomfortable to speak to him in mandarin.

It's not posh Brit accents that Singaporeans are emulating. It's American accent and in some cases Australian (data = dah-ta)
