Hi guys, looking to upgrade my PC. Usage would mainly be internet, youtube, MS words/excel. Would also want to play games like NFS on high specs if possible

Current specs are as of:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
8GB ram (not sure what brand)
512 GB HDD (not sure what brand)
Radeon HD 6950
Cooler Master CPU cooler Hyper 212 plus
Seasonic M12 II 620W
Cooler Master HAF Advanced 912

Budget would be 1-1.2k, hopefully can use back some parts.

Have no knowledge of DIY so would need a shop to help.

Thanks in advanced!:s12::s12:

bro since you have no knowledge how to build, feel free to head to pc themes or whatever to get their help. fuss free.

but if you are willing to learn to do it yourself, the savings can be quite significant(from lazada etc.) furthermore, having more knowledge of your own computer can be very handy

Or... don't upgrade your platform, just get a good graphics card upgrade with the 1-1.2k you have?

You could probably do with any of the following
  1. A GTX 1080 FE now
  2. A GTX 1070 or AMD Polaris + New case
  3. A GTX 1070 or AMD Polaris + an SSD upgrade.

thanks for the replies guys! that video was very helpful! guess i'll get a new gfx and ssd + HDD and do a system restore like one of the bros recommended! i'll be trying to DIY, worst come to worst i've a friend that can help, hopefully haha.

For SSD, i've shortlisted the one that was recommended above, http://www.lazada.sg/transcend-ssd220s-480gb-sata-6gbs-25-solid-state-drive-aluminiumcase-with-free-enclosure-7168174.html

For gfx, is there a huge difference from gtx960 to 970? the price is almost 30%+ more.

Or you could wait for 1070 which is coming out some time this month. The difference compared to 970 is colossal

gtx1070 might cost ~$800-$900 when it arrives in SG. If you don't mind 2nd-hand gfx, can try for gtx980 in the marketplace

Hi guys! Yes it's me again. I haven't gone about to upgrade my stuff. Anyway I just saw that pc themes is selling zotac gtx 970 at 399 and it comes with a free overwatch game. Considering that I'm planning to get overwatch also which cost 39.90usd it sounds like a good deal to me! What are your opinions? Can it handle the game at its highest settings?

Sent from dark side of the moon using GAGT
