Illumination events at Roppongi Midtown and Caretta Shiodome! And eat KFC (that's if you managed to place a pre-order beforehand)!

nothing much. Got some illumination in Tokyo.
But those mid Nov already can see and most run until next year.

That period, vegetation not so nice. Autumn leaves over.

For eating, I ate KFC in Japan before. Singapore one is better with crispy chicken.

Your period if unlucky overlap with Japanese new year. Then many shops close and people go back to their hometown.

KFC ran a very successful ad campaign in the 80s? Which advertised chicken for Christmas

It became some sort of a tradition in Japan to have KFC takeaway as part of their Christmas celebration

Tokyo station area might have some illumination also.

The illumination is nice but be prepared to queue if you wish to take a photo at a prime location.

It is not feasible to do a lot of shots because they want to keep the people moving along

Some parts of the route might be wide enough to do it
