Tokyo / Osaka recommendations?

First time to Jpn with travel dates 30 Oct to 9 Nov.

TA reviews for Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu (Tokyo) and Hotel Ichiei (Osaka) look pretty good.

They are slightly pricey (approx. SGD 300/night for Excel Hotel) but i guess it is because of the location, and also the rooms look big?

Any feedback from those who have stayed there before, and any other suggestions which are of a lower rate?

Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu, I look at website it is quite standard size. 20m2 for single etc

Those prices fare for 2 pax? If so, it is fairly standard for those 4-5 stars hotels.
Although for my preference, i like staying near Tokyo Station instead of Shibuya
