Hello,

Anyone notice performance lag after done the first service at 1000KM ?

I have Toyota Raize 1.2L model and recently done first service with changing engine oil and filter. After that gear transition was not smooth. when start, it uses higher gear. Then company did system reset. But vehicle still takes (2-3 sec) to get required speed. Some time accelerate not respond with engine speed.

anyone has this kind of experience, please let me know. much appreciate.

EO and ATF different right?

The only variable is the engine oil. If the new oil is too thick vs recommended, the whole car can feel sluggish, then maybe affect ecu, gear change and that driving experience.

anyhow say only.

got AD workshop cannot fix liao, so must go outside workshop.

Sluggish is due to thicker oil, but won't affect gear shift la..

so initially after servicing, there's gear change issue but it's fixed by a reset. then it feels sluggish?

then maybe engine oil is too thick liao.

is this car a hybrid or turbo ah? I see online is recommend 5w-30, if you use 40, well, this is the reason why it feels sluggish?

I read somewhere raize uses w20 or w30 eo

Why use till w40 for new car?
Maybe for wear and tear protection.

Last time Subaru AD workshop also recommend to change from W20 to W30 for better wear protection as our local weather is too hot

IMHO.
1. Make sure correct grade of engine oil. It could be original it comes with w20. After 1000k EO change, a different engine oil was used which is why there is a difference.

2. The incorrect use of engine oil will cause the engine to be slow in warming affecting the CVT performance. Some Toyota has CVT Fluid warmer.

3. Make sure EO is not overfilled. Overfilled will cause the engine to be slightly sluggish.

4. When accelerate, the CVT may take time to catch up with the engine speed. That's how the CVT works.

P.S. If very early morning start car and go off, consider taking a minute or two to warm up the engine and transmission. Consider using 0w engine oil.

1. It is Toyota. In Singaporean's mind, it is indestructible like Nokia phone.

2. If send to ad, it is likely they update the ecu and transmission version. If slowly means the original version will wear or damage some parts, so need to drive even slower.

3. If send to outside ws, in very rare occasions, the ws do not know how to service Toyota. Change ws. Whoever use w40 and above on new small cc bnb car, don't know much about car.
