Looks cool.

Will be even cooler if can install OSS.

TP-link should start working with OSS to develop its firmware like Asus. Then we can have cheaper HW with good SW. HW is only one aspect of a good network appliance.

TP-Link Singapore website actually lists quite some WiFi 7 router as "Coming Soon".

Archer BE900 (BE24000, quad-band, 11520 Mbps (6 GHz) + 5760 Mbps (5GHz-1) + 5760 Mbps (5 GHz-2) + 1376 Mbps (2.4 GHz))
Archer BE800 (BE19000, tri-band, 11520 Mbps (6 GHz) + 5760 Mbps (5GHz) + 1376 Mbps (2.4 GHz))
Archer BE550 (BE9300, tri-band, 5760 Mbps (6 GHz) + 2880 Mbps (5GHz) + 574 Mbps (2.4 GHz))

Deco BE95 (BE330000, quad-band, 11520 Mbps (6 GHz-1) + 11520 Mbps (6 GHz-2) + 8640 Mbps (5 GHz) + 1148 Mbps (2.4 GHz))
Deco BE85 (BE22000, tri-band, 11520 Mbps (6 GHz) + 8640 Mbps (5GHz) + 1376 Mbps (2.4 GHz))
Deco BE75 (BE11000, tri-band, 5760Mbps (6 GHz) + 4320 Mbps (5GHz) + 574 Mbps (2.4 GHz))

CHINA

I'd still buy the CDM TP-Link out of preference for cost though
(CHINA DOMESTIC MODEL)

Personally, security and SW/FW support are important for a networking appliance. Cost is only one aspect I looked at over a period of time (at least 5 years). So I will rather use one for as long as the SW/FW support it (Merlin/OpenWRT/ROS). Of course, I don't mind using them as pure APs.

That is the reason why I still kept my trusty Asus RT-AC68U (flashed with Merlin FW) till this day as my last line of backup or emergency deployment at extended family places.

This post is almost 2.5 years old, but I just want to say there's almost zero chance of this supporting OpenWRT because its Broadcom.

Unfortunately this is the case for most of the higher end WiFi 7 routers from Asus as well -- they use Broadcom BCM4916 CPU and associated WiFi chipsets.

As for TP-Link WiFi 7 routers, I doubt we will see any OpenWRT support for the Qualcomm BCM9570/9574 based high end WiFi 7 support either, like Archer BE800 and Deco BE85. TP-Link Archer BE805 may have a higher chance as it is based on MediaTek Filogic 880 chipset.

Majority of the TP-Link WiFi 6 routers are not supported either as of now by OpenWRT, other than a few China versions with MediaTek chipset.
