If u buy frm Tradepac, u must be experienced enough to know their 'tactics'. Their cheaper selling price comes at a risk.

Went shopping for Crucial M500 120GB msata SSD the other day. Pricing on pricelists write $128 for most shops. Went Tradepac, he give me lowest price $120. I ask for $110, he refused. Walked away. 5 sec later, i hear 'bro, bro, i give you good price'. Walks back into Tradepac. He price-matches my $110 and takes out the item. Then i realise on the packagibg itself got no Convergent warranty sticker. I politely rejected, end up buying frm Fuwell at $115 (coz PCT dun carry this product).

So to enjoy those substantial discounts u need to be fully aware of wads going on. Or just pay more for a peace of mind when dealing with warranty issues. Anyway i visit PCT quite regularly until YiLong can straight away slash $20-30 off an item for me if he is able to do so (rmb prices are distributor-controlled).

Prices will be distro control. But i dont think you will know why they can give a very low prices.

Warranty wise? Nah they dont sell you PI products. If they do, is like shooting themselves on the foot.

Is just stickers. Ssd by right do not have distro stickers on them. That includes all brands for now. With stickers would be an older batch model.

Been a few times to rma stuffa from convergent. Things like thermaltake se psu also no stickers, can still rma it. It goes by their registered serial number that they brought in to sg.

Walks back into Tradepac. He price-matches my $110 and takes out the item. Then i realise on the packagibg itself got no Convergent warranty sticker. I politely rejected, end up buying frm Fuwell at $115 (coz PCT dun carry this product).

There's no way TP carry PI/non-local disty stocks for their items. Only thing I know they PI are their Dynet ram and stuff with International warranty. TP haven't got the time to even bother selling customers fake/non-local warranty products in the first place

How u noe? U worked there before? Is this some insider info? Coz TP's invoice sometimes doesnt contain GST info. So i'm guessing TP does do PI for certain imports, just whether u heng suay get PI or local stock for particular items from them or not.

Anyway just put yourself in distro's shoes (convergent/corbell/ban leong etc). If a shop gets local stock frm u, yet undercuts your set pricing by a huge margin consistently, would u be frustrated that u wun be able to gain profits frm distributing stocks to them? And after a while stop giving them local stocks for certain products?

Well Best Bargain sells ard the same price. And Best Bargain is famous for PI stocks. Not sure if Best Bargain and TP share stocks or not.

Anyway, i think u noe that Best Buy closed down rite? Heard frm other shopkeepers that Best Buy shopkeepers sell at lower-than-normal pricing, made a lot of losses, owe local distros a lot of money, end up wind up business. For TP to do the same, TP must have had some PI connections somewhere...

They did evade tax at one time. Thats how they got caught once. And they swap out the coy name on receipt.

Distro dont really "care". They will sell on credit to the retailers. Its up to them to sell and they do not wanna know how much they sell. Although they have a rule for them for RRP/SRP to follow. But thats up to their discretion on own shops pricing.

Done procurement job and there is a loop hole in it. There is definitely a way to sell cheaper. Just that i have to make sure i pay the distro on time.

There are things that sold $1-$2 profit also. Usually we sell stuffs in quantity to earn a considerable amount of profit. BUT as a reseller we mist have a large customer based to do such a thing. Which in this case tp has. You will know when new components just launch. When they received it. Within 1 day it will go oos.

Best bargain do have pi stocks. Such as their memory cards and certain thumbdrives. But if you are talking about pc components no.

And tp if dont have the stocks, normally they pull stocks from pc themes and video pro. But they will charge the same price as they charge.

Best buy tried to follow tp. Did talk to the representative there. Few days before they close down, the staff said that they were gonna close down. They did try to earn less from consumers. But they earn too less to cover their cost.

100% confirm plus chop TP don't carry PI stocks for PC parts. If they are, it's either International warranty or their own cheapo India-brand imports. How do I know? Because any shop can give you the same price or lower than TP list price. TP can only undercut because of their "business/tax practices", which is related to the lack of GST registration number on their invoices (go figure). Roy also explained well enough.

With TP's significantly lower margins and bulk sales, you really think they got time to entertain and layan customers if they really sold PI mobo, PSU, RAM, SSD etc? There'd be tons of complaints received online, in the forums and distros. The only time they PI SSD was Intel drives from India/Sri Lanka.

And distro more than happy to continue supplying to TP. If TP can shift 50/week 280X compared to Footwell's 25/week, why not? Distro only care about how much stocks is moving, pricing that the customer sees amongst the shops, let the **** and bengs settle their inter-shop politics themselves
