Don't know why they think they see army camp, school got tray return section than they pass it down just like that.
Think most agree that whatever our G pass down, they don't discuss or debate the issue with Singaporeans.
They think can do just pass it down like army, encik say what you must do don't complain.
A lot of contributing factor whoever pass the tray return never consider:
- Area where the tray return section.
Some hawker/food center don't have very big space for tray return section.
If the area isn't big but the place have high human traffic than it cannot cope.
- Understaffed as cleaners are not paid very well.
TBH to survive on $1.4k pay check in todays living standard is impossible.
This should be the primary issue to tackle not pass down such campaign than impose a fine.
Set a livable wage so more household wife or auntie can take on the job as well as
flexible hours.
Working as cleaner isn't easy neither so comes my next point.
- Automation
Hawker/food center with high human traffic can invest in dishwashing machine.
But with machine still need manpower so doesn't mean lesser worker.
- Use PA system to remind diners to return tray
SG is very scary even never return tray will be fine.
The approach should be educate public not issue fine.
A lot of points I share does incur cost which is why the whole Tray return campaign don't say stupid but
it just to help bosses save cost and maximize profit. If the Tray return section doesn't have enough manpower
than pest will come feast on the leftover and this is a hygiene issue.
If you have any points want to add feel free to share.
