hi I'm scheduled to travel this week but due to personal reasons, doctor has advised that I do not travel and has issued me a chit which states that I'm unfit for travel. Have tried cancelling the tickets but was informed that no cancellation allowed. Will I be able to claim for insurance? For hotels, agoda is still waiting for reply from hotel before they let me know if can do refund. TIA!

You should be able to claim from travel insurance if the insurance covers trip cancellation due to unable to travel due to medical reasons. Check your insurance policy and call them.

If the hotel / airline refund you, then you cannot claim.

If you can't cancel the tickets, try asking the airline ( if its not budget ) to suspend it an change to open ticket to re-use ( by paying a fee ) at an later date.

Also, the date of insurance issued must be before the medical condition was diagnosed.

Try asking if you can up-fare to a more expensive but flexible ticket.

You might as well rebook your ticket for future use.
