I booked a hotel from trip.com and realised agoda has a much cheaper rate. I raised this with the customer service and they credited the difference as trip coins to me as per below.
My question is now that the coins are in my account, can I go ahead to cancel anyway and rebook on agoda? It still allows me to cancel for free
Immoral I know but if it is a common practice then why not right
"Considering the inconvenience caused, we would like to offer a compensation of 1847 Trip Coins for you. We can process the Trip Coins directly to your Trip.com account, and they cannot be recalled. Once you agree with this, you will receive them very soon within 1 working day. These coins have a validity of 18 months after they reach your account, and they can be used for your future bookings on Trip.com."
