This cash back cap still need to split spending into your selected bonus category, all other spends and partners (kfc, CDG….)

and u need to choose one maintain that is 500, 1000 or 2000 each month for quarterly. So if one month fail that is…

split into selected categpry and all other spends still doable but def not exclusive partner… can’t expect to eat a lot kfc or hail ride from CDG app…

Not to bash him, but imho he's quite a bad writer compared to Seth in evaluating things holsitically and tend to go for click bait titles. The post missed the value proposition of the card entirely.

Trust cards have been serving a fairly niche segment (NTUC Union member, FairPrice shoppers, and people who want to save on FX fees vs earn miles). So instead of only appealing to people who value Linkpoints, they now have a cashback card to serve the rest (except those who prefer miles).

To me, Trust CC is only good for FCY spending. At least now can earn 1% which is definitely better than the previous card.

Can apply for both cards, it's instant if you already have a credit limit with them.

I agree with you. I get the point that the 15% marketing is mis-leading, but the article comes across as whining. This is the same strategy followed by nearly every financial institution in Singapore - that of highlighting the highest rate as the key selling point. For example, UOB One Account's 7% applied only to the final 15 or 25K - and yet that number was plastered on the side of buses etc. I am surprised Aaron picked this card to complain about the larger trend.

Same. For existing Trust CC member is very easy, I just did it in a few clicks via the app. No harm to apply and keep since there is no annual fees, in case there is a promotion of good cashback at times.
