I went with Dynasty Travel in Dec about 2 years back. It was a 12D9N trip, think it was about $2.4k before adding personal expenses. Anyway there isn't much shopping to do there.

Was a good trip and a really beautiful country :)

Yup I went, it's optional and you have to add about $200+usd if I remember. Cool experience and landscape is beautiful.

Unfortunately we did not manage to catch the sunrise as there were so many balloons taking off we had to wait :s13:

I went with chang sis (lol) last year dec. i booked in natas fair, so get a good discount.

Turkey is a MUST VISIT place. Very beautiful country and historic (with greek, roman, bytantine, etc). Istanbul is the cheapest place to go if you want to be in Europe (ie. out of Asia). Ha. The churches and mosques are very grand and beautiful.

I took the balloon flight - BESTEST but ex at usd220/pax. It is very safe and the sunrise was majestic. Dont miss it.

I also paid extra for the bosphorus tour (about usd60 - 80/pax).

1 thing not so nice is the food. It is so much diff fr ours. This i have to agree with most reviews. :s13:

I hope 1 day i can return to visit this great country again and slowly explore the rest of its beauty. :)

very disappointed with dynasty. the travel consultant said the date I wanted did not meet the minimum number of ppl but it should be able to proceed as it can be combined with another tour of the same date but different airline. So i happily blocked my leave and paid deposit. Yet, in the end it was cancelled and now I have to wait for them to refund my deposit. Lucky I have not bought travel insurance or else I have to absorb the cost.

Is it still safe to travel to turkey? Really want to go for the hot air balloon

I'm going to turkey for the 2nd time this April. (I'm the guy asking tips on your Finland trip haha)

It's still safe, based on my many friends that just returned recently.

There's quite a lot to see in turkey, but the 2 main destinations you mustn't miss is Istanbul and Cappadocia (hot air balloons)

As for Cappadocia, you can use htr turkey tours and for the Cave accommodation, Takaev is highly recommended!
