Should I get the Asus UX32VD @ $1298 now (with 500GB HDD + 24GB mSATA SSD) or wait for the Haswell refresh? I also want to change out the HDD with an SSD but that would void the warranty, but I asked the guy at Challenger and he said can go down to the service centre to buy the SSD and upgrade. Posted the question on the Asus eService Centre subforum and their reply wasnt helpful at all. My budget is about $1600 and I would like a 13".

Why not get those model that already has SSD as upgrading will cost more?

The one with SSD costs much more. If I get the one without SSD, spend $250+ on an 256GB SSD and $20+ on ext HDD case, only cost me about $1600 in total. If I'm not wrong, the one with SSD costs more than that.

Think the Haswell based Ultrabooks will be quite costly at launch. But personally, I think Haswell is the perfect companion for an Ultrabook with a good boost in graphics and power reduction. Hard to decide indeed.

depends on hw long u can wait. im also looking at the S46CB, but i can wait til the nx PC show b4 deciding. my current comp still works fine but at a slower speed.

i feel haswell CPU will be worth the wait.

i have one. last ITshow in june the vendors all tell me the model phase out liao. only 1 asus booth out of 4-5 was selling and they only have 3 pcs left. its not really an ultrabook. more like a thin and light laptop (macbook pro)

if ur looking for true ultrabook (macbook air) then wait for the haswells, u will be well rewarded :s13:

If you are not in a hurry, wait for Haswell models to come out. Should be worth the wait
