Hi,

Have a slightly less usual question. Will be going to work in USA for a year and plan to bring my PC along. I'm assuming that I need to change the PSU? Any advice?

Thanks.

Just ensure your PSU supports 110-230V as written on specs sticker. And if there's also a voltage switcher on the PSU rear, make sure to flip it AFTER removing your PSU entirely from power grid.

And yes you will also need to get a new PSU power cable for US socket which will be cheaply available there.

On another note, why not you sell this PC here and use the funding to get another over there which is going to be much cheaper and more fun with lots more of choices? :D

If TS is referring to the Seasonic on his profile, confirm plus chop it will not have a switch for voltage and will not need one either. All he needs is an adapter for the power cable and it will work fine in the US.

The only other thing he might need is a UPS if the area he is moving to is prone to brownouts.

If he is inclined to change parts, he can wait for Haswell to appear and buy it from Newegg or even a Microcenter when it appears...
