Hi Guys,

Recently I keep getting approached by UOB people saying other banks interest low and stuffs like that and say they have a plan that if i save $200 a month, I could get a return of $900 after 1 year, anyone knows about this plan?

Thanks!

They might be talking about bancassurance with Prudential, specifically, talking about an endowment plan from Prudential.

I did a quick check and the returns are about there for PruFlexiCash 25 years (900 is lower than projected when averaged actually). This plan however, is not for short term growth, and whatever interest that you accrue will only be paid upon maturity of the plan.

aiya, UOB. tsk. They have lots of roaming "bankers" around ATMs outside their branches nowadays.

Those "plans" that they try to sell are 99.9% from Prudential. Endowments with cashback feature to be precise. That is also how so many ahmahs and ahgongs unknowingly got tempted and walked into the branch to deposit even more $$$.

Think more then twice if deal is too good to believe.

I think its very good for UOB shareholders.

Whenever UOB salesman approach me to sell me this kind of product, I wish them good luck and hope they will sell a lot so that the value of my UOB shares will go up.
