Any UOL law students around? Can you share with me if you have any difficulties getting a job after your graduation?

What role do you play in your organisation?

as far as i know, wasnt the minlaw req just changed a while ago? i dun think anyone who is eligible have graduated yet

Changed? Can you paste a link or some info on the 'changed' rules? From my knowledge, I dont think anything changed. I think the same rules still apply. UOL law grads still wont be able to practice. You need to be a "full-time internal candidate" of the university. UOL is both distance-learning and external. Hence, they dont qualify for the bar. I think thats why OP asked what jobs or employment opportunities are available for law grads who cant practice law.

Best is to take up LLM from SMU. You will be able to gain admission to the LLM.

But with UOL LLB, no way you will be considered as a qualified law practiced even if you complete scheme A or scheme B.

What role do you play in your organisation?

Since UOL law grads cannot practice law locally, they can probably serve as paralegals in law firms and gov agencies or as case managers in courts. Inhouse counsel is rare, as they usually need people who can practice.

But be aware that UOL grads might have to compete with TP law grads who are more cheaper to hire.

Quite difficult to gain admission IMO. I've enquired with SMU before early last year when I was actually considering pursuing a UOL law degree. They bluntly told me that their records show that there has never been a successful UOL Law graduate applicant into SMU's LLM. But its not to mean that it is impossible, just that its very difficult.

probably no tertiary qualifications? perhaps a good SAT / LSAT will be able to compliment the UOL LLB. (just my thoughts)
