Hi guys, I'm thinking of upgrading my parts instead of getting a new rig. I'm using a p55-gd65 mb and vaporx r5770 graphics card.

Will a ssd work for this mobo and will getting another card for xfire be worthwhile?

yes the mobo can use ssd.

i dun think your 600w psu can handle 2 card. it be better you just use a single good card.

if i am not wrong 5000 serie gpu is very much more power hunger than recent new card

try to upgrade your ram to 8 gb too

Ram is actually 12 gb now.. Haha.. Forgot to update the rig setup.

PSU also upgraded but I can't remember offhand what's the rating now. But I think its running the same ratings.

In any case, the ssd is more impt..

Thanks!

Bracket is $5 from tradepac I think. Just two metal piece attach to the SSD to make it mountable to 3.5" bay. Or if you lazy srsly just tape it or leave it hanging there. SSDs have no moving parts so there will be no performance impact honestly.

Better off getting a newer graphics card than looking for a 2nd hand HD5770. Use less power and longer life forward.

My Sapphire HD5750 kaput in less than 3 years.

I'm using this mb now too, do take note that it only supports up to sata II, and most ssds now are using sata III, the speed is still there, but is capped by the sata II.
