Upgrading a Dell Optiplex 3010 to the max

The point of this thread is? OId PC like Optiplex 3010 if can be used?
Just upgrade?
FYI that model is really old, might as well just get a new desktop than upgrade it.

It uses Intel H61 chipset, for those who don't know.
H61 was 10 years, officially support only Windows 7.
There's no PCIE3.0, USB 3.0 or even SATA 3.0.

The motherboard itself is not only old but very old standard
using PCIE2.0, USB 2.0 and SATA 2.0.
So why upgrade it? Even if you can upgrade the bus interface
of newer hardware like graphic card will be bottleneck not only
by the old CPU but the PCIE as well as SATA.

So if you have performance issue just get a new desktop.
Or look for at least Intel 4th gen Dell desktop for cheap.

why not? it's interesting to see how far tech has come. in a few years time we would probably be looking at a 13900k + 4090 system the same way we are looking at this optiplex now. might as well experience it a few years later than never at all :)
