Hi looking for a low capacity UPS just for the purpose to give my NAS enough time to shutdown.

Any recommendations that have that USB plug that communicates with the NAS to initiate shutdown?

You can check out online store for APC BackUPS with USB connector. Most should work. Do check out your NAS forum just in case there are compatibility issues (rarely).

Been using APC for several brands of NASes in the past. No problem. Currently using this (new look) for my DIY NAS.

There is. You missed it. It is located on the top left side of the rear view picture named “Data port” . It is a USB type-B.

Personally I have never bought a UPS without a data/communication port (USB/ethernet/serial) which is used for configuring the appliance to initiate a proper shutdown. Kind of defeat the purpose to buy one without.
