Hi,

I have a Asrock B85 Killer Mobo. There are 2 Usb 3.0 port over at the front panel but it is not detecting my portable harddisk when i plugged in it. There is definitely power to that port as my harddisk lighted up when plugged it but it just doesn't read it. Solution?

remember the good ol days when external harddrives come with 2 usb heads to power the drive?

despite usb 3.0 having twice the amperage of usb 2.0 i believe u are experiencing the same problem that has plagued ext hdd since the dawn of time... not enough power.

plug directly to the mobo usb 3.0 ports to solve problem :s22:

alternatively some drives can be rather picky and only show up after a restart
