USB Microphone failed to work after Windows update

Hi guys, I'm using Samson C01U-Pro USB microphone.

It was working fine, till the recent windows 10 update. I couldn't think of anything else which could be the issue besides the windows 10 update.

Windows recognise it as a USB mic but I can't get any software to work with it. i.e. Audacity prompts "error opening sound device".
I have tried uninstalling the USB mic in Device Manager and reinstalled, update drivers, etc, basically whatever I could find on Google but I can't get it to work.

I can't revert the windows 10 update as i did a disk cleanup. Please advise. TIA

Oh my... Why must they make something that is just plug-and-play become so tedious all of a sudden?

Previously they also made an update that allowed multiple programs to access the same webcam and that too killed lots of things.

I had the same problem where my mic does not work and tried uninstall and reinstall. In the end, it was due to method 1 (from the link) where the microphone settings was set to 'off'.

Waste my time troubleshooting.
