I didnt wan to debate with u as i feel ur pc knowledge is not my lvl , since ts create a thread ask for suggestion i already given my best advise . To buy or not buy is not my problem , i already mention the main point is = ''u dun need a overclock cpu to play game , 1.7k already can buy brandnew 6600(non-oc)+ gtx 970 sytem ( his gtx970 is no warranty laigi LOL)

I am looking at unlocked processor to overclock. I am not going to buy a locked processor FYI. EVGA does provides international warranty for all their products. They will pay for return shipping for RMA.

If I were to build the exact same specs from PC themes sans the GPU, it will cost roughly around 1.8k (GPU not included). In my opinion, 1.7k is slightly on a high side that is why I am still thinking about it. I will try to lower if possible. What I know is that for the exact same spec, we surely won't be able to get at 1.7k brand new.

As for unlocked processor, it is designed to overclock so it must be able to withstand vigorous overclocking but as far as I know, my colleague is not that kind of person to overclock and that rig was an impulse purchase.

i agree with you that TS can get a cheaper desktop anywhere and dont need extra stuff like skylake, oc, extra ram to cut down the cost.

but the fact that TS is asking for that particular spec and is it worth it to buy from his colleague with that particular spec, i think its worth it.

if the whole rig with the same spec (hardware spec, not performance spec) can be built with 1k and his colleague is selling it at 1.7k...then that is not worth it.

anyway, just my opinion. cheers

I had a bad experenice bought from colleuge , he sold me a 560ti(few yrs ago) which he oced it and reassemble until its fan got problem ( but he diam diam) , so he earn a fren , i lose some $$

You got my point haha. I am actually looking at i7-6700k with another mobo but since that offer came along, maybe I shall set my expectation lower.

If u noe that ur colleague prob did nothing much to the system and can pass off brand new, and you don't mind his choice of brands and models for the builds, then I think 1.7k is fine.

From experience, mobo first to go if kena bad overclock. So u prob wanna watch out for that. Make sure his warranties are intact, at least for motherboard.

the differences are:
casing is Corsair 450D Obsidian
PSU is Superflower Leadex 750W
additional fan is CM fan

His is ard $2080.. built early Nov last year

1.8k 6600k system without GPU ? God which shop tell me I will avoid it
