Using power bank to charge iPhone problem

My power bank has 13500mAh capacity

iPhone 6's battery has 1810mAh

So I can charge many times with this power bank right ?

But everything I plug to charge , I am using the phone at the same time. After few hours , the power bank's battery emptied without even fully charge the phone. At least charged 80%

Am I having a faulty power bank?

Yes and that mean your power bank is not a full 13500mah capacity. Over declare the capacity.

What kind of power bank you using ?
Some capacity stated is not accurate , some even have lead or sand bag inside to fake the weigh.

the stated capacity of the powerbank is *never* the actual capacity (actual may be only 80% of the rated capacity), and conversion efficiency is *never* 100% and maybe also 85% at best.

Yes and no. If you ask me, it depends on a few things.

1. Power bank's actual Output voltage and current.
2. Cable used for charging.

Cheap knock-off power banks fake their output specifications to make the sale. A decent power bank should at least output 5V/1A and a good power bank should be able to output 5V/2.1-2.4A.

If you're not using an original cable but those cheap ones, they may be causing slow charging because those cheaper ones transmit lower power. An original or decent cable should allow up to 5V/2.1-2.4A transmission power.

Your iPhone should be drawing about 5V/1.3-1.7A depending on your power bank, cable and phone. The best way is to use a USB doctor so you can see your output rating.

Why not you take half a cup of coke (half filled battery of a hp) and you use a straw to drink from it (using the hp) and at the same time pour a can of coke into the glass while u drink from it (charging and using it).......the cup will never be filled if you drink very fast.

Also it depends on what kind of power banks you buy. If it is not those decent brand or original ones. You should be lucky if you can get 50% of what it's being rated.

More expensive ones can be considered if you want extra features like those that have Quick Charge 2.0 (like Anker).
