I know most ppl will connect the switch directly to the router but i was wondering if its possible to connect it to an ethernet port in my bedroom instead?
I have 2 ethernet ports in my bedroom. One is near my desk for plugging my mac into. The other port is near my TV. Currently my singtel tv box is plugged into if. My TV is connected to my home network via wifi when i watch netflix.
Am hoping to connect my TV directly to ethernet port but since its already used by singtel tv box, will it work if i buy an unmanaged switch, connect it to this ethernet port near my TV, then connect both tv & singtel tv box to the switch?
