Planning to go Sapa, reviving this thread

Sapa experts please advise.

1. Travel between Hanoi to Sapa by what transport better? Train or Bus

2. All trains are overnight leaving around 10pm.
- Do you book hotel room for one more day by early check out at 6pm for dinner and go to train station?
- if check out at 12noon, where to place the luggage for 6-7hrs before heading for dinner and train station?

3. if take train will reach early morning 5-6am, where to go after breakfast?

U can book from klook with hotel included save u the trouble to time

Im planning to go for 5D4N to Sapa in Dec.

1. I will be taking bus at 630am from hanoi to sapa on Day 3.
2. I will be leaving sapa on Day 7 night and arrive in Hanoi in Day 8 morning.
3. I see there are a few restaurants that open early to cater for breakfast. Search in google map to see which suits your palette and timing.

On a sidenote, anyone have recommendation for private car transport of 7-8 hrs to bring me to the places i want to go? Namely, glass bridge, love + silver water falls, a few vantage points, alphine coaster, etc. Hotel is charging 1.1m VND for private car transport, so wondering if anyone else got lobang?

Train is scenic but stuck inside with strangers and if you are tall can't sleep properly. Big bus with reclining seats my relatives took but found it uncomfortable.
My suggestion take the 10-12 seater van cause it's fast and comfortable at least to me I slept to every break point.

Be wary of Google reviews alot of paid reviews, can judge by the low no. of people at the restaurant.. something's not right.

Tried horse meat, strawberry wine and their local 'salmon' hotpot alot of bones, not impressed with the taste. There's a multi storey cafe middle of town with a nice view to sip coffee and eat some pastries.

Legit Hmong homestay was nice, alot of city folk apparently pretend to Hmong and set up tourist homestays. Thought we were being chauffered but turned out to be a 5hrs++ hike

Klook bus timing 2 slots morning and afternoon and pick up need to be at old quarter area.


Is there any from Hanoi airport direct to sapa?
I soon be landing at 9am ++
Or must go to the old quarter area then can take the sapa bus

Have booked my flights to Hanoi next month for 6 days. Plan to go Sapa via night sleeper bus when I arrive in Hanoi at 4pm (pray immigration will be smooth) and arrive next day morning, and go fansipan after breakfast.

Can I ask if I want to visit Cat Cat village after fansipan, can just call for grab?

Was at Sapa in first week of September. Transport was via 9 to 11 seater limousine. Booked via Klook. There are standard seats and VIP to choose. Standard seats are next to driver. VIP seats have my massage capability, Type C and USB 2.0 charging ports.

Departure from Hanoi at 0645, pickup from hotel. 2 toilet breaks. Arrived in 6 hrs.

Departure from Sapa at 0730, pick up from hotel.

Cat Cat Village, can use Grab.

There are 2 drop off points. Ticket counter 1, which need to walk down flight of steps, 20 mins.

Ticket counter 2. Need to take shuttle, VND 10,000 to arrive at entry point

Thanks. Might not be going Cat Cat village. Will be going Swing Sapa instead which has the giant swing and rainbow slide, more interested in rides.

Limousine can be booked separately. One person also can book. Not restricted to a group of travellers. There were 4 in our group

Regardless of the number of passengers, price remains the same for VIP or standard seats. Check it out at Klook.

Thanks. I don't mind taking the limousine van but I scare if there are other passengers, they might throw my hubby out as he snores.

If other also snores, I think i will throw them or myself out
