Hi, I just received a letter from CMPB saying to report to Hendon Camp's guardroom to attend Vocational Assessment on the Feb. Read forums and found out it's for commandos. Is it really for Commandos? Why was I selected? I'm selected, but will I be confirmed?

I got body fats and fighting hard to lose them (was 100 kg now 79kg-80kg).
As for my NAPFA,
Passed: Sit & Reach, 2.4km, Shuttle Run and Sit up.
Failed: Pull-up and Standing Broad Jump. Overall I got silver.
After today I'm gonna push myself and exercise regularly.

After reading a few forums, I realized that most of them are from Poly and JC? I'm from neither and I got into Hendon Camp, does that mean something or anything?

What will the interview be about? I know they will ask if I'm interested or not to be a Commando. If I say no will they choose me? Like teacher who choses student who don't raised up their hands. If I say yes, will they reject me? Because maybe because they don't want people who are willing to join to be chosen(maybe a little paranoid and overthinking)?

Most important, why was I selected and did they pick me based on education?

Many thanks!

To be honest, I want to get into Special Operation Force(SOF), but Commando is still as good. When I got the letter, I had no reaction and after reading forums, I got really happy and exited.

Seems like it. Why were you selected, we will probably never know. It depends.

Ok. (Everybody got body fats, if they don't have, something is wrong)
Ok.
Ok.

Maybe those people who are not from Poly and JC don't post on forums? Probably not.

I can't answer you first question. Will they still choose you if you say no? Possible. Will they not choose you if you say yes? Possible. Maybe.

We'll probably never know.

You want to sign on?

Well to be honest I got my motivation to be in army because of games and movies. I know it will be nothing like video games and movies, but what I like is the training and the intensity of it! My sister was looking down on me until this letter came up! So I got so so so so so happy! :D and yeah, I think most likely I'm signing on!

Hi! I have received a letter regarding VA at hendon camp as well. Is it okay if I don't bring along a napfa result slip since I have yet to take my napfa test? Still schooling in local poly, doubt I would have the time to travel down to toa payoh to take the test as my Wednesday class is from 11-6. Another reason is that I can do every stations reasonably well except shuttle run and 2.4, I can't run very well. I know it can be trained but my VA is on 4th Feb (not much time to train) :( thanks in advance for any suggestion :)

i don't think it's an issue. Also, I don't think fitness is an issue for getting in. People who failed NAPFA also get chosen before

Oh thks! I have read that fitness is not exactly what they focus on during the VA, so I'm not really worried about that! I was just worried about not bringing a napfa result slip and get kenna for it! But thks anyway!

In NS, it's IPPT not NAPFA. IPPT no sit and reach

Doesn't matter if you fail the mock IPPT during the VA, it can have no bearing of whether you get selected into the intake. There are people that did 0 pull up and failed SBJ and still got in the intake.

More than 1000 people of the batch will get called up to the VA after CMPB checkup and MAPAS test and around 250 will be called up during enlistment, the rest will be posted to other vocation's BMT.

Education wise, in order to go OCS, one must possess a Diploma, A Level cert or anything of equal qualifications. If not, specialist will be the highest level they can go.

As for the interview, you can say whether you want to join commandos or just say not interested. But end of the day, they can choose you even if you said no. You will only be informed whether you are joining the commando mono intake when you receive the enlistment letter indicating you are enlisting to Pasir Ris Camp (Commando Training Institute) or Tekong and other mono-intakes.

So in the end, is the interview that matters most?
