I purchased an IPhone 5 from M1 on Sep 2012 and have bought+activated AppleCare before 1st year warranty ends. Im currently having issue that when I toggle the side switch to silent mode, the phone will vibrate 2 times(about 1 second) itself randomly as long it is in silent mode. Suspect the switch is having problem.

I have exchanged my IPhone 4 previously at either Paragon/313 Somerset few years back under 2nd year AppleCare warranty and as I am not sure if there are any changes, I gave a call to M1.

I called M1 to check which M1 branch should I go for warranty issue and the M1 CSO told me that M1 are no longer in charge of IPhone warranties, be it within the 1st year or 2nd year extended warranty(AppleCare). Was told to go to either A.Lab at Plaza Sing or QCD at Wheelock Place for servicing. Wonder is this the case for Singtel and Starhub customer

I would like to know if I were to bring my Iphone 5 down to A.Lab, will it be a 1 to 1 exchange or will it be return to me few days later after fixing?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Direct immediate replacement , provided if they have in-house stock.
I'd recommend you by visiting QCD@Wheelock as they do carry large amount of replacement stock, compared to A.Lab@PS

I bought my iPhone 5 from M1 and now M1 is no longer servicing the iPhone.

My iPhone 5 encountered intermittent shutdown and I brought it to the authorise service agent at PS. The counter staff manage to replicate the problem and wrote in the service request that they will replace my iPhone. But after 2 days, they sent me an e-mail and told me that they cannot replace it as they cannot replicate the problem.

Very frustrated and went straight to Apple for the inconsistent customer service by their authorised agent. Unfortunately, due to the protocol, the decision cannot be overruled.

LL... has to take back my iPhone 5 AS-IS with the same problem

2 issues:
1. Inconsistent customer service
2. apple service seems to go down the path like I have encountered with Nokia many years ago when Nokia outsource the service to Accord. Not so customer friendly.

Anyway, Apple try to do service recovery with me which I appreciate.

Now I begin to worry. My problem is similar to yours as in intermittent random vibrates when set to silent mode through left toggle switch. As it is random, that mean they will not entertain me too if they are unable to replicate the problem by their backend service staff.

That why sometime not that we want to rise our voice to those CSO. They just not well train. I went there with a speaker prob at my iPad, they just claim is the software that I installed got an issue, and guess what the QCD engineer come out and said? It the imsg apps prob. They advise me to do another restore but I insist it a prob. Hell they restore for me and the speaker still have prob. That where I lose my cool and shouted at the QDC engineer for wasting 5h waiting in queue and for their process. But at the end I still said sorry. I remember I look at the person beside me said they deserve it.

We apple user need everything to be perfect. And good experience service.

All iPhones bought in Singapore are serviced by Apple Authorised Service Providers (AASP), M1/SH/ST no longer service iPhones.
What about for accessories? last week i just bring my cable to ST to get it exchanged man. :s22::s22:
